Story 14

MAU - Slayers - Keeping Everything Shiny

Well, it took me long enough.  This one was a little difficult to write.  I just got into a funk and couldn't get anything done.

Storywise, this is the start of several storylines that going to start paying off very soon.  One of which is very big.  Another will only start paying off towards the end, while another will be going past that.  I've started going into the mind of Faith a little more.  Continuing to show that she is far from fine.

The Twilight thing is something I've been wanting to do for a while now, but kept putting it off.  It originally happened at a mall, but that seemed like a bad place for a fight.  Especially when my two characters are avoiding being noticed.

Also the next story, which took a lot longer than I expected will be online this week. The others should follow shortly afterwards.

But just as a teaser here are the current titles for the rest of the arc, all are subject to change.

MAU - Slayers - Runaways

Well this is where it starts, the final push towards the big finale. This story was actually written immediately after I posted the previous story (not the April Fool's one, the one before). I really can't go into much detail because a lot is building on stuff to come. But if anyone is interested in the timeline of the series, this is roughly six months after the first story, keeping the story current with the present. I haven't fully figured it out completely, but it is meant to take place around the same time as the story is posted.

I do want to remark on Faith's comment about finding one of the actors on Supernatural to be attractive. While she may not like to admit it, she does have a type. R and this actor fall within it, so there is something there. She is still highly troubled by the small mental changes she has been through. Not that she is trying to resist it, she really can't. But she can be bothered by this. This comes from how I chose to write the change done by the MAU. It does change the very structure of the brain. The mind itself (personality, memories) are largely unchanged, but when put on top of the new brain, things are a little different. Faith is dealing with all the emotions, instincts, and hormonal issues that the real Faith would have. This doesn't really go against the other stories, in fact most seem to support it in some way. It has just never been focused on in the story. I just went with it because I find the relationship between mind and body to be fascinating.

The main point is still the characters, but if I can fit in something like that I can make myself a little happier.

Story Update

MAU - Slayers - No Reality, Only Illusion

A little bit of April Fool's Day fun. This is one of the reasons I've delayed the last arc for so long. As for where this falls in the canon, certain aspects of it are canon as will be learned later on. Although me talking to Faith and Buffy isn't.
